Q: Where are you located?
A: We have a residential studio located in Concord, NH. When you schedule your appointment we will be happy to e-mail you our address and directions to the studio.
Q: What days and times do you have appointments available?
A: Photography by Nylora is open on M-T-Th-F-S by appointment only. We have found that mornings are best for most babies and children. We reserve morning appointments for newborn and young children and the afternoons and early evening appointments are reserved for expectant mom's and families. Nylora will be happy to discuss appointment times with you when you call for an appointment.
Q: How do I make an appointment? What is the fee?
A: You can call the studio at 603.223.4145 or e-mail Nylora at Nylora@PhotographyByNylora.com to make your session reservation. You will need a valid credit card to reserve your time. The $95 creation fee will be billed to your account when you arrive for your session or if you fail to cancel your appointment at least 24 hours in advance. However, we understand working with children that emergencies can occur and will be willing to work with you to reschedule your appointment within two weeks of your cancellation if something does come up.
Q: How long can I expect a session to last?
A: This really depends on which session you choose. A prenatal session usually takes about 1 hour and includes up to 3 outfits. We plan on up to 1.5 hours for babies up to 1 year. Babies need time to nurse, to be changed and to relax. We have created a warm, relaxing studio with those things in mind, and we plan for them. There is no need to feel rushed – we are here for you and your baby! For "Real Kids" and family sessions we plan for 30 minutes to an hour.
Q: Do you offer a Baby Plan?
A. Yes, we have recently added a Baby Plan to our list of collections that we offer! It works this way: It includes a session at 4, 8 and 12 months milestones, and, if you call for a newborn session prior your baby's 6 week birthday we will include that session for free! Please contact us for details, we would love to talk to you.
Q: What do we wear for our session?
Prenatal Sessions – We recommend fitted clothing to really show off your new curves! Pre-pregnancy jeans work great for these sessions; we just leave them unbuttoned. Items such as snug tank tops, camis, yoga pants, matching bra and panty sets, bikinis, white t-shirts, etc. are all great and perfect for these sessions. We have some items here that you are welcome to use. Remember solids are best in most cases; however, if you have a "fun" outfit that you love, by all means bring it. Color can be fun in some instances such as bikinis and undies. Bring what you have or think might work, and we will piece it all together when you arrive for your session.
Baby Planners – Newborn – Naked baby session
B/W Relationship Sessions – We recemmend long sleeved dark shirts (turtlenecks are great) and jeans for everyone. These work best when the newborn is completely naked so that the focus is on the baby. Plus, when the are this tiny they tend to get "lost" in their clothes and it really is all about them, so why cover them up (see the photograph below).
Traditional Color Family Sessions – If you are interested in a traditional family portrait, coordinating jewel tones (deep greens, navy blue, maroon) tops and jeans are great. Solids are ALWAYS best. You want the people looking at your faces in the portrait not at all the patterns in the portrait. If you are looking for a more casual look, white t-shirts or blouses are perfect for this session. This lets everyone's "style" show through but still looks great together.
